In 2021, I started beekeeping. We named our company JD’s Bees after our son John David. Just like him, our hives started small but full of promise.
Those first few hives were a lesson in patience and wonder, learning through trial, error, and the occasional sting. Each season brought new challenges and new rewards. The bees taught me that growth is steady, that sweetness comes from hard work, and that every small wingbeat matters.
I may have started beekeeping without knowing why, but I keep going because I do now. This is more than a business. It’s a legacy—one built on service, love, and the quiet magic of bees. The bees have taught me that sometimes, you don’t need to know the reason to start—you just need to begin, and the meaning will come, one golden drop at a time.
